~About Elliot~

Name: Elliot
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Species: Genetically modified human (crossed with bird)
Height: 1.85 m/6í1î
Weight: Super light weight for his height, since he's half bird (40 kg normal, 50 kg when he carries his metal chains).

Personality:
He can be summarised as "act first... and maybe think later".
He is easily provocated and doesn't like to be pushed around, he especially tends to disregard authorities.
He has a terrible short term memory.

History:
He joined the army of a country at war as a teenager and was enrolled in experiments creating hybrids out of human and animal DNA to boost the army's strength. After a couple of years he managed to escape the army together with Rhu and since then they've been wandering around from place to place, just enjoying their lives.

Strengths and Powers:
He possesses strong wings that enable him to fly at the speed of sound if needed.
He can turn himself into a little black bird instantly. Practical for dodging attacks.
Close combat skills obtained during his time in the army and knowledge of how to use military weapons.

Weaknesses:
His physical strength without the help of his wings is average.
Since he has the tendency to act rashly, he often gets into needless danger.
He needs a lot of energy compared to a normal human because of his bis wings. Therefore he needs to eat a lot.
The experiment he went through caused an instability in his emotions. Under intense pressure, fear, or anger, Elliot has the tedency to lose control of himself and become extremelly violent. During these situations, Rhu's the most likely person to calm him down. 

Weapons:
Metal chains. Good for securing pesky tax collectors. It also hurts when you get hit by them. The range of methods to use them is vast
Metal shoes. Metal plate is sewn under his shoes, which is great for landing and kicking.

~About Rhu~

Name: Rhu
Age: 40 (biologically equals 20 homo sapiens sapiens years)
Gender: Female
Species: Homo sapiens fortis (differently evolved human subspecies; homo sapiens fortis don't look all too different from homo sapiens sapiens. The biggest differences are that they possess greater physical abilities and age about twice as slow.)
Height: 1.72 m/5í8î
Weight: Slightly heavier than average, due to all that muscle mass (68 kg).

Personality:
While she's the cooler head of this duo, "cool" is only relative. When annoyed or angry, she doesn't hold back expressing that with her fists.
She lives for brawling, but she only fights if she thinks that her opponent is a challenge in battle. While she doesn't really have a problem with killing people, she's only interested in measuring herself against them and always gives her 100% when fighting seriously.
Even if she doesn't show it, she cares a lot for Elliot.
Having lived 40 years, her biological and mental age equals that of a 20-year-old homo sapiens sapiens. The 20 years that she's lived more than Elliot just shows in a larger collection of experiences.

History:
Growing up in a seclusive warrior tribe that had branched off as an own subspecies of homo sapiens, Rhu was taught all kinds of physical and magical combat abilities that were passed down through the generations. When she turned 26, the tribe got caught up between the battlelines of besaid war and was wiped out by the technological superiority of their opponents. Rhu, as the only survivor of her tribe, was taken in by one of the armies and served for about 9 years before she met Elliot. Another 5 years passed before they deserted the army together.

Strengths and Powers:
Overall, she is a very fit brawler. She is an experienced boxer and packs very painful punches (Elliot can confirm that).
There are two types of magical totems embedded in the following places on her body whose powers she can activate: the ankle bracelet which enable her to jump really high/far, and the gloves which boost the strength in her arms making her punches even more powerful. She uses the gloves only in emergencies because they're straining her muscles.
Knowledge on how to use military weapons.

Weaknesses:
Physically seen, she has all the characteristic physical human weaknesses. Her abilities, except for the strength and lifespan, don't exceed human peak condition.
The drawback of using the magical totems is that they consume a lot of energy, so she constantly needs to replenish her energy reserves by eating. It would be extremely straining to use them in quick succession; it is impossible to use them at the same time.
Moreover, the usage of the totem magic requires a lot of concentration; e.g. while using the strength totems, she becomes a lot slower because she needs to focus on controlling the magic in her arms.

Weapons:
Magical totems. Enhance strength in her arms and jumping ability of her legs.

~About their relationship~

The army Rhu and Elliot joined formed a special squad that consisted of genetically enhanced humans. Only Rhu belonged to a naturally evolved human subspecies with above-normal strength, the DNA of the rest of the team was articially modified in the military labs.
For years Rhu was Elliot's superior before they decided to ditch the army together. Since then they've been wandering from place to place, seeking out new challenges, short-lived thrills and fun things to entertain themselves.
They are a well-matched team in and outside combat; while their fighting abilities complement each other, their personalities amplify each other to get into trouble. It is Elliot's rash acting usually that Rhu has to compensate for though.
In short, they're two bored, hedonistic, constantly broke magnets for trouble, not exactly dumb but not exactly detectives either.
